Grand Egyptian Museum Set to Open Entire Museum After 2 decades of anticipation, The Egypt Minister of Tourism as confirmed that The Grand Egyptian Museum, located near the Giza pyramids, is set to fully open on July 3, 2025. Since October 2024, it has been partially accessible with 12 main galleries open to visitors. The complete experience will include the long-awaited Tutankhamun Galleries and the Khufu’s Boats Museum. The Tutankhamun Galleries will showcase the famous pharaoh’s tomb treasures, while the Khufu’s Boats Museum will display a solar barque, a boat intended for Khufu’s afterlife journey. The museum houses over 100,000 artifacts, including the unique Hanging Obelisk and a Grand Staircase Gallery with over 60 statues. Visitors can explore Egypt’s history in chronological sections covering various periods. The museum will be closed for a few days before the grand opening ceremony, and some exhibits, like King Tut’s treasures, may be unavailable temporarily. However, the Minister of Tourism has recently confirmed that all exhibits will be accessible after July 3, 2025.
