About This Tour
The New Classical Israel tour is a nondenominational tour that will lead you through the land of Israel. Travelers on this wonderful journey will become acquainted with Israel’s most important cultural, biblical and historical sites as well as modern Israel.
Please note that America Israel Tours does not operate this weekly tour. There are many tour companies in the U.S. and in Israel with whom you can book this exact tour. Therefore, whether you book this tour with us or with any other tour company, you will ultimately be on the same tour bus. The advantage of booking this tour with AIT is that we offer outstanding prices and travel services. With offices in the U.S. and in Israel, we are here to assist you during the booking and planning process, and while you are touring in Israel.

Day 2 - Friday
Arrival
- Upon arrival at Ben Gurion International Airport and after passport control, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Tel Aviv for check-in.
- The rest of the day will be free to enjoy the hotel and the nearby famous Tel Aviv promenade.

Day 3
Day 3 - Saturday
Free Day
- Enjoy a free day of Shabbat! You may explore Tel Aviv, the city that never sleeps!
- Discover the famous boardwalk along the Mediterranean Sea or take a walk in Old City Jaffa.
- Tel Aviv is home to numerous art galleries, cafes, and museums, as well as the beach! The Tel Aviv Museum of Art is a very highly rated institution, while the Eretz Israel Museum offers a historical perspective on the history of Tel Aviv.
- For those who prefer to shop, there are several shopping malls that open after the end of Shabbat till late night.
- Stroll along the famous tree lined Rothschild Boulevard, and take in the magnificent villas and buildings occupying the most expensive real estate in Tel Aviv.
Day 4
Day 4 - Sunday
Caesarea
- Embark on a captivating coastal drive to Caesarea, a former Roman capital built by Herod the Great in honor of Augustus. Explore the fascinating excavations of the Roman port and aqueduct, and marvel at the restored theatre overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
- Proceed to Megiddo, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This ancient city, strategically located on the crossroads of ancient trade routes, offers insights into thousands of years of civilization. Discover the well-preserved water system that sustained the city through centuries of conquest and settlement.
- Continue through the scenic Druze Villages nestled in the lush hills of Mount Carmel, where you will experience a vibrant community known for its rich cultural heritage and spiritual traditions.
- Arrive in Haifa and enjoy breathtaking views from Mount Carmel, overlooking Haifa’s Bay. Gaze at the iconic Bahai Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its golden dome and beautifully landscaped gardens.
Day 5
Day 5 - Monday
Winery
SAFED / GOLAN HEIGHTS / WINERY
- Set off on an enriching journey to Safed, the renowned center of Jewish mysticism, known as Kabala. Immerse yourself in the history of its ancient synagogues and soak in the vibrant, creative atmosphere of the Artists’ Colony. Here, galleries and studios display the work of talented local artists, blending spirituality and art against the backdrop of a picturesque, pastoral town.
- Continue to Tel Faher, a former Syrian outpost with significant importance for the upcoming days before the Six-Day War.
- Enjoy the panoramic vistas from Mount Bental, a dormant volcanic mountain with strategic significance and a vantage point overlooking the Syrian border on the one side, and the beautiful Golan Heights on the other.
- Before concluding your expedition, make a stop at the Golan Winery, where a wonderful wine tasting awaits you.
Day 6
Day 6 - Tuesday
Nazareth and Sea of Galilee
- Head out on a captivating day, starting with a visit to the sacred city of Nazareth. Explore the revered Church of the Annunciation, where the Angel Gabriel announced to Mary of her divine pregnancy with Jesus.
- Continue your journey to the Sea of Galilee, delving into the history of Capernaum, the town where Jesus gathered his disciples, and home to St. Peter. Here, you can marvel at the ruins of the ancient synagogue and the beautiful octagonal Church of St. Peter.
- Ascend the serene Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount.
- Drive south to the Jordan Valley and stop at Beit Alpha, an ancient Jewish town from Talmudic times. Admire the remarkable mosaic floor of the ancient synagogue, depicting the captivating zodiac.
- Continue to Tiberias; visit Capernaum to see the ruins of the synagogue and octagonal Church of St. Peter.
- Visit Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount.
- Drive via Beit Shean to Beit Alpha to see the remains of the mosaic floor of an ancient synagogue depicting the zodiac.
Day 7
Day 7 - Wednesday
Mt of Olives & Old City Jerusalem &Bethlehem
- Start the day with a magnificent panoramic view from Mount of Olives, offering a stunning overlook of Jerusalem’s historic skyline, including the Dome of the Rock and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
- Next, head to the magnificent Old City to explore the Tomb of King David and the sacred Room of the Last Supper on Mount Zion.
- Enter the walled city and stroll through the newly restored Jewish Quarter, discovering the remnants of the Roman Cardo, an ancient Roman road.
- Make your way to the Western Wall, the last remains of the Jewish Temple, and follow the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, believed to be the site of Jesus’ crucifixion and tomb.
- Conclude your day with a visit to Bethlehem*, birthplace of Jesus. Walk through the Manger Square to visit the Church of Nativity, one of the oldest operating churches in the world.
Day 8
Day 8 - Thursday
Jerusalem
- Today we will drive to the esteemed Israel Museum and explore the remarkable Shrine of the Book, where the ancient Dead Sea Scrolls are displayed. Marvel at the intricate miniature model of Jerusalem during the Second Temple period.
- Pass by the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, and proceed to Mount Herzl, Israel’s national and military cemetery named after Theodor Herzl, burial place to many of the nation’s leaders and heroes.
- Pay respects at Yad Vashem, the official memorial to the Holocaust.
- Dive deeper into Jerusalem’s history with a tour of its vibrant New City neighborhoods. Wander through narrow alleys, listen to captivating tales, and uncover the rich tapestry of the city’s past that shaped its foundations.

*Optional Bar/Bat Mitzvah Ceremony – For families who wish to celebrate a Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony at the Western Wall, the option is available. This is an amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity. While the rest of the group tours Mea Shearim, arrangements will be made at the Western or Southern Wall with an Israeli rabbi. At the end of the service, you will be transferred to the current location of the group. Please call us for more details about this special option.
Day 9
Day 9 - Friday
Dead Sea
- Drive through the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, almost 1300 feet (400 meters) below sea level.
- Stop at Qumran to visit the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found.
- Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Massada.
- Ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans before committing mass suicide in 73 A.D. Descend by cable car
- Continue to the Dead Sea; Cover yourself with the mineral rich mud and experience a swim in the Dead Sea* that many believe has its therapeutic effects (*weather permitting).

Day 11 - Sunday
Departure
- After breakfast you will be transferred to Ben Gurion International Airport for your transatlantic flight back to the USA. Take home your fond memories of Israel that will last a lifetime, and start planning your next trip!
